FAQ

Clear answers based on how Power Pooches works. Still unsure? We’re happy to chat at your free assessment.

Book assessment

Is the assessment really free?

Yes. Power Pooches offers a free, no-obligation assessment. You’ll get tips you can start using, meet the trainer, and discuss a plan. Booking is a request—the exact time may change so we can attend when we’re in your area.

Where does the assessment happen?

Usually at your home within the service area so we can see family–dog dynamics. It may also be at an agreed public place, or you may be asked to meet closer to us if you’re outside the usual area.

What if nobody is home when you arrive?

If you cancel with short notice or nobody is home on arrival, you may be invoiced for expenses incurred. We keep assessments free and ask clients to honour the booking.

Do you offer single sessions to new clients?

No. All new clients must purchase a training pack. Lasting change needs commitment from both the guardian and Power Pooches.

What methods do you use?

Only force-free methods centred on positive rewards, education, and learning to read your dog. We do not use aversion methods, haltis or negative cues, and we do not promote “pack leader” approaches.

Will you work with reactive or anxious dogs?

Yes. All dogs are welcome—including reactive, anxious, nervous, rescue, puppy, adult and senior dogs of all breeds.

Where do training sessions happen?

In your home, backyard, shops, public places and parks. Environmental venues are also used for controlled public practice. Check the environmental page for a list of current places along with maps.

What are the training pack prices?

As published: Starter $600 (3 sessions), Intermediate $750 (5 sessions), Advanced $850 (7 sessions), Top-ups $150 for graduates. Extra dogs and travel fees may apply. Confirm current prices before purchasing. Prices subject to change without notice.

Do you travel outside your service area?

Yes, where possible. Mapped areas are included in pack home sessions. Outside areas may incur $20 per 15 minutes travel.

What is Walk N Train?

An education-focused walking session using long leads—calm starts, attention, triggers, “leave it,” and enrichment. It is not formal heel training and does not use haltis or aversive equipment.

What are the training session prices?

As published: Starter pack of 3 sessions - $200/session (Paid in full $600), Intermediate pack of 5 sessions - $150/session (Paid in full $750), Advanced pack of 7 sessions - $122/session (Paid in full $850), Top-ups $150 for graduates of Starter pack, $127.50 for graduates of Intermediate pack, $112.50 for graduates of Advanced pack. Based on 1 dog. Prices subject to change without notice.
